Thursday 19th June - walk *** – Around Felixstowe including picnic on
the beach with Maeva and Jay – sunny and hot.
The heatwave continues here in Felixstowe with wall to wall sunshine and
light winds, I managed to do my exercises in the back garden early before
it got too hot! No plans for today as it’s too hot for walking, we had
the plumber around this morning to service our boiler, then Jay and Maeva
came round at lunchtime as the building work continues at their house.
Maeva is in her usual top form, being really hot in our garden so I pack a
picnic and we walk down the hill to sit on the beach where there is a very
pleasant cooling breeze. We sit on the beach in the groyne with the
overflow pipe that with used a lot in our childminding days and the gulls
love the fresh water running onto the beach! After lunch we play with water
again in our plastic picnic containers and I introduce Maeva to the little
stream out of the pipe, she was not impressed, Jay spent the time looking
for fossils and sharks teeth but didn’t have any luck! We had a brilliant
time with Maeve loving the beach, both her and Mag returned home a little
damp! Then we walked to the Spa Theatre and up through the gardens, once
you moved away from the beach it was unbearably hot:( Granny got loads of
cuddles as she read loads of books before Mag took them home, we might do
it all again tomorrow as Friday is Maeva day and it continues to be very
hot:(
